THE ROAD NOT TAKEN

The Road Not Taken

- Robert Frost(1874-1963)

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
two roads diverged in a wood, and I --
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference. . .

. (Mountain Interval . 1920)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I read this poem when I was in class 9th , loved the poem when it was in my course and still hold an essential place deep within my heart. This poem had a connection with my personal life unlike any other poem I had written or read till date! “I too faced a choice at one point of time in my life... and I'm also sorry that I could not travel both roads that laid before me! “

Its my soul's call to each and every reader of my Blog to hear his or her heart's voice while making decisions, else the more you will walk ahead in life, the greater you will be forced to look back! Advices from everyone around you will do come your way, but making your passion and soul instinct as your directive maps will always lead you to paths of glory, the condition here remains that your motives and intentions are clear to you, you should not lie to yourself! You should not hide your realities from your self and then only your heart will show you the right path!

Oh, I kept the first for another day!...Yet knowing how way leads on to way,...I doubted if I should ever come back. “ how true is that! We never come back at the same point in life from where we make a certain choice. Life keeps moving and all of us forget about that turning point unless on some lazy Sunday afternoon or perhaps a weekend we do realize where we have reached and from where we begun that very day when we took that turn!

I regret writing each and every word of this post yet the beauty of life is that it always teaches you a lesson with every wrong decision of yours!

The concluding verse holds the key “ telling this with a sigh” . No matter where you go, no matter what you do, success or failure whatever comes by your fate, you never stop thinking about the road not taken, you always sigh for not being able to travel both roads in life!

All I want to say from this post to all the readers in that, Always remember one thing in life... In a world full of opportunities, its not our abilities that decide what we become, It is our choices!

THE PRINCESS LOVE STORY

Long time back in a town
where the sun never use to set
lived a beautiful princess
who usually remained depressed!

She was as beautiful as a rose
her long hairs and pink cheek
mystifying beauty of her eyes
was all that poets of her time speak

a prince had left her ditched...
he went back to his city of Thames
without telling her and out of sudden
he broke his promises and claims!

She had a smile on her face
to show to the world
but deep within herself
she was a broken girl!

No love exists in this world
she had made up her mind
regret trusting someone for once
she wanted the time to rewind!

A day when she was walking
in gardens of her palace
she met a poor gardener
who wore glasses & smile on face!

In giving water to suffering dead plant
they became good friends within days
he was boring, strange, poor and weak
yet for her,his jokes left smile and gaze!

Hand in hand roaming and cheering
she started liking him from heart
but somewhere in her was a fear
will this be another painful start?

On moonlit night they met again
she wanted to say something but stopped
looked in his eyes within the spectacles
and a few tears from her blue eyes dropped!

The boy hugged her tight and tried
to catch each of those falling tears
and before she could say a word
he held her hand and made it clear

he would love her more and more
with each of his passing breath
his commitment for her would never change
until the day he submits to death.

She lost words when trying to reply
deep in his eyes she stared
embracing him then is her arms
they dissolved into love & care.

In years to come and seasons to go
His promises stood the test of time
He filled her life with all he could
The love he showed was truly divine.

When she was sad,He made her smile
singing & dancing in love for her
but pity in the face of this loyal lover
harsh destiny had other things to offer.

A horse stammered those streets again
the English prince returned to that shore
handsome & smart,in glory of his class
now had jewels, throne and much more.

He went to the father of princess
and asked for his old beloved hand
king was humble to have this offer
but left choice on her own stand.

leaving a poor hand, she held the other
the boy was shocked, broken & shattered!
She left him with no reasons
broken pieces of his heart he gathered.

She went back to her past
forgetting all she got within a second
how selfish was her own happiness?
The boy still wondering what happened!

The royal wedding took place
in midst of his tears and questions
princess never replied to his letters
soon settling in English mansions.

In fury of heartbreak and immense pain
he cried on as days changed to night
sobbing a chest filled with strain
he laid to death on god's might!

Not for once he cursed her
how true was his love?
Still prayed on for her happiness
even heaven's cried from above.

The love is pure, its never blind
as they always call it to be
we people don't have eyes instead
love dies in wait for us to see!!

DREAMING ATTROCIOUS ATONEMENT

From within the silent shores
comes a screaming call
from a voice well known
An attention captured!

In the stormy night
where thunder roars
A sudden spark lits
The darkness broken!

Recalling my memories
looking back to shadows
That staring broken gaze
A story re-opens!

Some unanswered questions
certain unaccepted answers
two confused blazing eyes
Their sad spark noticed!

Drops of mist, the dew in them
falling upon me through my soul
A dusty wind blows a flash
Some vision fades into illusions!

Retracing the paths of past
falling back I shatter apart
encountering a painful truth!
A mirror witnessed!

I often doubt If I'm worthy
of what I had been blessed of
Confessing to my heart
A Dream concludes half way!

ULTIMATE SONG OF FAITH

As far as I last remember there had been no other song that had caused a certain impact on my senses with respect to faith, the one that had been caused by this one! A lyrical masterpiece in fact! From the OST that I admired a lot, from the movie that disappointed me a lot “Delhi 6”, comes this track “Ariyan”. Feat the voices of javed ali, and kailesh khair in their sufiyana best on the melody of double oscar winner A.R.Rahman! The credit for the immensely meaningful lyrics goes to Prasoon Joshi . These goes like this...

Arziyaan Sari Mein, Chehre Pe Likh Ke Laaya Hoon
(All the requests, are written on my face)
Tumse Kya Mangu Mein, Tum Khud Hi Samjah Lo...
(What can I ask from you, you yourself should understand)
Ya Maula..., Maula Maula Maula Mere Maula
(Yes Lord... My Lord)
(Maula Maula Maula Mere Maula)

Dararein Dararein Bandhein Pe Maula
(Obstacles, Obstacles on my shoulders, O lord)
Maramat Mukdar Ki Kar Do Maula, Mere Maula..
(Take a control of fate/ fortune, my Lord)
Tere Dar Pe Jhuka Hoon Meeta Hoon Bana Hoon
(Am bowing at your feet, have fallen, and recovered)
Marammat Mukdar Ki Kar Doo Maula..
(Improve my fortune/destiny, O Lord)

Jo Bhi Tere Dar Aaya, Juhkne Jo Sar Aaya
(Whoever has come to you, has come to bow at your feet)

Mastiyan Piye Sabko, Jhoomta Nazar Aaya
drunk with fun were seen dancing to everyone
Pyaas Le Ke Aaya Tha, Dariya Woh Bhar Laya
he had come thirsty, and gone with a river full
Noor Ki Barish Mein Beeghta Sa Tar Aaya
wet in the rain of light, has came over

this is the real truth of those who have faith in true god! It can never comes to cheats who kill people in the name of god! I am sorry to say but my land is full of people who govern faiths and have no idea of what it actually is.

O Ek Khusbu Aati Thi
(There comes a fragrance)
Mein Bhatakta Jata Tha,
(I would lose control)
Reshmi Si Maya Thi
(There was a silky image)
Aur Mein Takta Jata Tha
(And I would kep looking)
Jab Teri Gali Aaya, Sach Tabhi Nazar Aaya
(When your stret was near, then I could truly see)
Mujhe Mein Woh Khusboo Thi, Jisse Tune Milwaya
(I possessed the fragrance, that you brought to me)

Tut Ke Bikharna Mujhko Zarur Aata Hai
(Scattering into pieces, I can really do)
Hoo, Tut Ke Bikharna Mujhko Zarur Aata Hai
Varna Ibbadat Wala Ssarur Aata Hai
(Otherwise I can only pray)
Sajde Mein Rehne Do, Abb Kahin Na Jaunga
(Let me stay at your feet[in prayers], I will not go anywhere now)
Abb Jo Tumne Tukhraya To Sawar Na Paunga
(Now if you leave me, then I will not be able to recover)

these lines had spoken my heart of the moments when I laid my head each time in the temple of Sai Baba at bithoor in kanpur from where I really found the true meaning of secularity! The real happiness lies in seving humanity and not in reading books and preaching them with force

Sar Utha Ke Mene To Kitni Khwahishe Ki Thi
(I had asked for so many things)
Kitne Khwaab Dekhe The Kitni Khosishe Ki Thi
(Had seen so many dreams, had tried a lot)
Jab Tu Rubaru Aaya...
(When you appeared in full)
Jab Tu Rubaru Aaya Nazarein Na Mila Paya
(With your presence, I could not look into your eyes[I shied away])

Sar Jhuka Ke Ek Pal Mein... Ooo
(With bowing head, in a second...)
Sar Jhuka Ke Ek Pal Mein Mene Kya Nahi Paya
(With bowing head, in a second what have I not achieved)

brilliant vocals of kailash kher here! Leaves a tremendous impact! Its been so many times in life that we had been trying to fool our god! Deep within we all are selfish! We are selfish cos we wish! Wishing shows our selfishness to god, may be one day if ever there is a god, and he would ask us to retrace the prayers made by us! There would be nothing more than personal wishes and how shameful would be that for most of us. will we be able to look into the eyes of our god?

Mora Piya Ghar Aaya, Mora Piya Ghar Aaya
(My husband/partner has come home)
Maula Maula Maula Mere Maula
Maula Maula Maula Maula

Time and again I had been left in tears after hearing this song in my I-pod! Rahmann had always been a maestro in portraying the essence of saint music in tracks like “kehna hi kya” and “khawaja mere khawaja” but this one had left a greater impact on me for sure! Most of it goes to the lyrics of this track from which even an agnostic like me had gathered inspiration to write something like this! This track had retraced me to the paths of the saint that I had been a firm follower of him even after becoming an agnostic and thats Sai Baba, the secular humanitarian idol whose idea of faith is the one that dwell within my heart! The existence of single power, the necessity of peace! The immediate stopping of ridiculous ex aggregated display of faith! In last few months I had lost the track of Sai Baba too, but thanks to this song, I am trying to find a way back into my faith in secularity and in him!

WINNING IS ALL ABOUT MAKING COMEBACKS

Not everyone can be a winner in every battle of life! People who emerge as the real winners of life are the ones who wins the war, if not every battle! They fall, they regret, they cry and then out of no where they return, they rise, they rejoice, they fall again... and then in the same manner return again! Its all about coming back whenever You fall!

In a result oriented world, not every time does odds turns in your favor, some times you get less than what you expect, less than what you deserve, less than everyone around you! You lose! But to lose and to be a loser are two different things, the people who know this difference are the once who wins the long race of life!

When we fall, we constantly are titled as losers or failures by everyone around us, including our soul! We regret a lot as each one of us know why we fall or fail and we regret for not utilizing the time, for not listening to well wishers, for wasting the resources, for being careless and for thousands of other things. We curse ourself and the almighty! We remember the good old times when we were on a high and constantly miss those days! Analyzes that where had all that gone, we conclude that we have changed, we had been doing activities that we shouldn't have done ever, then we resolve to ourselves that we would stop all the things that had led us to failure or downfall and would do all that those people do who had succeeded!

Time passes by, we work hard, very very hard... still something miss! We are still not able to reach the same top where we belonged to! Then we curse god and loses our faith, sometimes breaks down to accept that we had lost it long back and can never get to our best again! Then moves back to old habits(that we had at the time when the failure struck us), rising up at the same time in the morning, listening to the same songs, hanging around with the same friends... at the very next hurdle of life, we discover what we are, the true identity of ourself! We define the dimensions of our success and failure again! And evaluate the positives in the negatives! Work hard on our strengths and fights with them rather than excessively pushing ourself to focus on weak points! We hit hard! We strike back! We smile again! We rise again! We return back to what we actually are and had always been! We come back! Not each one of us can come under the dimension and characteristics of the category of people defined by the word “We” in this article! One out of a thousand people like me and you are a part of this group! Those are the winners! We are the winners!

Life's not about winning and losing! Its about winning in the end, its about winning after losing, its about winning after losing, losing, losing and losing! Its about coming back! Its about realizing that when everything is gone “tomorrow is yet to come”. Its about believing in one's own self in the tough times! Its about collecting the broken pieces when we break and rearranging them in the proper shape or even better then before! Its about falling seven times and rising back the eighth time! :)
